Dear all,
I am delighted to acknowledge the progress made by the Assam Association Chennai (AAC) over the past years. Having been closely involved with the association for over three decades, I have witnessed the remarkable and groundbreaking growth for the betterment of Assamese society in Chennai. AAC has excelled in both cultural and social responsibilities towards the society.
AAC has been actively showcasing our diverse culture, literature, music, and traditional cuisine in South India, fostering socio-cultural exchange between the states. It has provided a platform for people from Assam living in Chennai to preserve and pass on the socio-cultural heritage to their children. AAC promotes unity and healthy relationships among all sections of our society, akin to a supportive family, which is an encouragement for our younger generation.
The AAC has also been actively involved in assisting individuals who come to Chennai for advanced medical treatment, providing them with financial and moral support as part of our social responsibility. Additionally, the Association has extended financial aid to those affected by floods in Assam on numerous occasions.
We have an aspiration to establish a Cultural center (Naamghar, Auditorium, etc) in Chennai to promote the contributions of Srimanta Shankardeva to society and to popularize the nationally recognized "Satriya Nritya" dance form in South India. We humbly request the concerned authorities in the Government of Assam to consider and support our constructive proposal.
I extend my best wishes to the Assam Association Chennai for continued success.
Joi Aai Assam.
