Deciphering teenagers: a delicate art of listening beneath the surface.

The art of connection lies in hearing what isn't said.

A saying I believe everyone should believe in. Because teens most definitely do

Now, I can most definitely understand why it can be so complicated to figure out a teenager.

Communicating with a teenager is far more of a hazard, let alone to try & decipher them. I often portray teenagers as this delicate, yet complex box wrapped with wit and unamountable sass. But underneath all that lies a single message about what they truly want to say. Their tendency to overthink is what complicates their true intention.

The art of connecting with teenagers is a valuable skill. Teenage years are a turbulent time with rapid physical and emotional changes. Understanding teenagers requires patience, empathy, and the ability to pick up on unspoken cues. Teenagers can be like enigmas waiting to be solved.

Communicating with them is like navigating a minefield - one wrong move can lead to misunderstanding and resistance. But beneath the bravado and sarcasm, there's a deep desire to be understood and heard.

Human beings are very complex creatures due to their innate ability to feel deeply. Teenage is the age of awareness and the development of your conscious and subconscious, due to which teenagers feel twice as deeply as an adult would. As a child, we would feel simple emotions such as sadness, anger, happiness, etc.

But teenage is a time when we feel more complex emotions such as jealousy, insecurity, greed, pride, and honor. Teens have an innate ability to feel such complex emotions for the first time. This overwhelmingness seems to engulf them and often confuses their capacity to think and see clearly.

Another challenge in connecting with teenagers is their tendency to overthink. Their minds are constantly buzzing with thoughts and emotions, each demanding attention.

I urge all the parents & family members to understand the mindset of their children. Even simple interactions with them can become convoluted puzzles that need careful deciphering. To truly connect with their children, it's important to listen closely, read between the lines, and respond with empathy and care. With patience and an open mind, we can learn to understand the unique inner world of teenagers and provide the support they need.
